Load Management Services

Energy Awareness for our environment
& putting $$$$ in YOUR Pocket!

By being aware of the energy we use, we can ALL help our environment.

One way to show our energy awareness is to manage the demand placed on the electrical supply system. North Central Missouri Electric Cooperative does that with automated Load Management.

NCMEC is proud to be one of the leaders in the field of Load Management. We have been effectively managing load since 1987. With our history in this field, we have received inquiries from, and have demonstrated our Load Management System to, power company personnel from all over the U.S. and even power company personnel from Korea, Russia and Japan.

We continuously gather data from our substations, and monitor that data, so that we know when a "peak" is approaching. A peak is the time when customers are demanding the most electricity thus called "Peak Demand". When we reach a new peak, we become locked in to pay our power supplier for that much electricity for the next 11 months, whether or not we ever need that much electricity again.

By using Load Management, we can avoid that peak, eventually cutting it down to size. This tool enables us to maintain (perhaps even lower) your electricity rates.

At the present time, we can manage loads on electric waters, electric clothes dryers, central air conditioning and electric heat without ever disrupting your normal household use of electricity. We offer incentives to our members for allowing management of those appliances, which can amount to as much as $120.00 annually! And load management is a requirement to take advantage of our VERY LOW COST water heater program.

With electric heat, if you have a secondary source of heat to take over during peak time, we can offer you a special rate for your electricity that once 1,000 kiloWatt hours is used, is about half the cost of our regular rate! For details, call or E-Mail the Member Service Advisor.
